About Us

We are a team of five Human-Computer Interaction Master's students at Carnegie Mellon University. We came from diverse backgrounds but share a common passion for research and design!

MEET THE TEAM

Daniela Marmolejos

Daniela is a designer using human-computer interaction principles and systems thinking to solve problems. She is passionate about working with complex problems and environments. After graduating from Virginia Tech, she was a consultant at PwC for 3 years.  Wanting to solve more user centered problems, she came to CMU’s MHCI progam.  During her free time, she loves to sing (fun fact: she is classically trained!), sketch and explore new cities.

Molly Vierhile

A designer who seeks to enhance tangible human experiences with technology. She settled in San Francisco after finishing undergrad in 2014 and conducted clinical mental health research at Stanford prior to MHCI. An avid traveler, she’s been to 46 countries, and loves photography, hiking, and all things outdoors!

Siqi Wu

Siqi is an experience designer passionate about the intersection of design, technology and business. Several years of marketing experience at a Fortune 500 company and her MHCI journey have molded her into a multifaceted designer. Her biggest passion outside of work is cooking!

Swarnakshi Kapil

Swarnakshi is a designer who loves experimenting with emerging technology. She joined the MHCI program at CMU after graduating with a BS in Cognitive Science & HCI from UC San Diego, where she conducted research on the interaction between pedestrians and self-driving cars. She is most passionate about sustainability and likes to surf in her free time.

Zeqian (Zach) Peng

Zach is a designer with a multi-disciplinary background who strives to be a product designer who can shape and change the way people live through technology. Formerly a graffiti artist, Zach sees graffiti as an art form that can change the relationship between cities and humans.
